About Sunbridge Road Mission
Sunbridge Road Mission is an Independent Evangelical Church that was originally part of the Methodist Church. The Church was founded in 1889 and was relocated as part of a church plant a few years later. We became known as a ‘Mission’ due to being heavily involved in the local community in reaching people with the Good News of Jesus Christ. The Church was not only concerned about the spiritual welfare of its people but also concerned in their social welfare also.
The Church has developed on its present site and has activities for all ages.
We have now reached a stage in our development where the present site has become insufficient for our present and future ministries and we are actively looking for a new site within the inner city of Bradford, preferably within a mile of where we are presently based.
April 2010: an offer has been put forward on an acre of land on the Colonade site (Provident). The elders have had a meeting with Bradford Planning office and are waiting for confirmation on access onto the site from Sugden Street. The monies raised so far amount to £400,000 and the elders/trustees are looking into the funding possibilities that are available to us.
